Wanted: Arthur Tragg

Here is a physical description of Lt. Arthur Tragg, from The Case of the Silent Partner by Erle Stanley Gardner.  Perry Mason and Della Street are talking.
“Have you ever met Lieutenant Tragg?”
“No.”
“Not quite as tall as I am,” Mason said, “about my age, black, wavy hair, wears a
gray, double-breasted suit, has a prominent, clean-cut nose with thin nostrils, and when
he is excited, has a habit of tilting his head back so that his chin is up and his nostrils...”
“That is who it was,” she interrupted.
Not very Ray Collins-y, is it?

When I read the books, I picture the actors from the television show in the key roles. I wouldn't mind to get a handle on a different Tragg, though.
